Joe Chouinard

As a composer, arranger, songwriter, keyboardist, pianist, teacher and more, Joe has filled many niches in the Twin Cities music scene.

He is currently on staff at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community in Minneapolis.  Besides playing piano and keyboards there, he has done arrangements for the choir, composed mass settings for the congregation, sung with the choir and much more.  He has been featured in special events there, including their annual "Cabaret" that brings in some of the finest talent in the Twin Cities area and beyond.

He has played keyboards in various bands over the years.  From variety bands to big band jazz to country to bluegrass to R&B, he has covered a lot of the musical spectrum.  Most notable was his tenure with variety bands Popluxe and The Sevilles.

Joe also has served as an accompanist for instrumentalists and singers.  He worked with the widely acclaimed Gospel singer Robert Robinson.  They had an opportunity to tour South Korea, performing at U.S. army and navy bases throughout the peninsula.   On another tour, they provided inspiration for the inmates at the U.S. Penitentiary at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

He has taught piano lessons for many years for students of all ages.  Most recently, he has taught at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul.  The school prepares students for the many facets of the music industry with leanings towards the contemporary and popular music culture.

Joe has also provided music for various video projects including background music for industrials and special event presentations.  He has written and recorded music and sound effects for a video series geared for children called Baby Babble, under the banner of Talking Child.
