Hello all and happy fall! The colors are becoming gorgeous here in Minnesota.
Well, I've had a very busy summer. The band that I'm in, Popluxe, has had many gigs (mainly weddings) these past few months. I've been having a blast with the group and I've noticed my soloing chops begin to take hold. It's a great feeling when you can begin to play just what you hear in your head and feel in your bones.
I also decided to take these past 4 weeks off from promoting my solo piano to focus on the upcoming elections. I feel this is a crucial time for all of us. I felt the need to heed as Dr. Martin Luther King said "the fierce urgency of now." So, I decided to team up with a fellow singer/songwriter Deb Harley to put together a video to support Barack Obama. We set it to a song written by a local artist Larry Long. The song, "Be the Change You Believe In" is truly inspiring. You can find the video on YouTube. In YouTube's search window, just type in: Be the change - Minneapolis. We recruited volunteers from the Twin Cities, and they came with their kids, with signs, with enthusiasm! My wife Connie is in it too!!
As soon as the elections are over, I plan to carry on with more music projects. I shall keep you posted!
